Narine achieved the feat in style, cleaning up Delhi Daredevils’ Chris Morris for 2 and soon trapped Vijay Shankar on the same score a ball later. Narine came back to dismiss Mohammed Shami to pick up his third wicket of the day, taking his IPL tally to 102, and finished off his fine three-over spell conceding just 18 runs.
Narine and Kuldeep Yadav shared six wickets as they helped Knight Riders beat Daredevils by 71 runs in their league match.
Narine loves bowling at Daredevils as he has got 23 wickets from 12 innings – his second best against IPL teams, after his 26 against King XI Punjab. Narine’s 102 wickets came in 86 matches after conceding 2113 runs with the best figures of 5/19, which he picked up in his first IPL season way back in 2012.
Narine, who opened the batting, after being pushed down the order in the previous game, made only one run off four balls before being sent back by Trent Boult in the third over of the KKR innings.
In the KKR’s season opener, Narine scored a breezy 17-ball half-century to help Kolkata Knight Riders beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets.
