Paris is an exciting city for kids to visit. They’ll love going up the Eiffel Tower, watching street artists create caricatures by the Seine and riding the enormous big wheel at Place de la Concorde. Plenty of hotels offer services with families in mind, and these are some of our favourites.

Despite being one of the most luxurious hotels in the city, this grand Art Deco hotel is also extremely welcoming to children. Four Seasons Hotel George V features a decent-sized indoor pool, child-sized bathrobes and an arrival gift for little ones. There are children’s menus in the restaurants and babysitting can be arranged with 24 hours’ notice. There’s even a Recreation Manager who can help suggest and organise family friendly activities or provide DVDs, games consoles or colouring books. There are many suites suitable for families and cots are available on request – there’s no extra charge for children under 18 staying in the same room as their parents where space allows.

Suites at the Four Seasons Hotel George V are the perfect combination of cosy and luxury
Just a 10-minute walk from Gare du Nord, Staycity Aparthotel is convenient for those arriving by Eurostar. These budget apartments come with kitchens and cookware, as well as being closed to plenty of places to eat and a food market. Apartments sleep up to four people and are clean and functional. Free Wi-Fi is available, there’s a 24-hour reception and also an on-site café. Cots and highchairs are available on request, as well as breakfast and parking, plus there are laundry facilities.

In an enviable location on the Champs Élysées, this luxurious hotel with a Haussmann-style exterior has sophisticated rooms with bronze quilted headboards and TVs in some of the bathrooms. There are welcome gifts for children on arrival and kids’ menus in two of the three restaurants (the third has a Michelin star.) The spa has a large indoor pool with a lifeguard. Rooms are glitzy and opulent and there are suites of various sizes, some of which have views of the Eiffel Tower.

Overlooking a 19th century park with a playground and plenty of room for the kids to let off steam, this chic, budget boutique hotel is in a leafy area within walking distance of the Marais. Rooms here include brightly coloured feature walls, and junior suites overlook the park and can comfortably sleep a family of four. Cots are available on request and an extra bed can be added to some rooms. There’s an optional hot and cold breakfast buffet and babysitting can be arranged. Plus, there are several restaurants under five minutes’ walk away.
The spacious rooms at Gardette Park Hotel are great for a big family
As in all Novotels, children under 16 get to stay and eat breakfast free of charge. A 20-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, this hotel is on the banks of the River Seine and offers an indoor pool, as well as a children’s menu in the on-site bistro. For kids who are hungry all the time, there are also 24-hour food vending machines. Rooms are bright, modern and comfortable, and sleep three or four people – suites with separate lounges and impressive city views are also available.
The kids will love the fabulous pool at Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel
Right opposite the Jardin de Tuileries with its enormous Ferris wheel, perks for kids at this opulent hotel in an 18th century building include sweets at check in, plus children’s sized robes and slippers in the bathrooms. Kids receive a ‘passport’ on arrival to help them discover Paris with their families and there are child-friendly menus in the restaurants. Kids can borrow custom-made toy boats to sail on the boat pond at the Tuileries and there’s a treasure hunt around the hotel for them to enjoy. Children also receive a cuddly toy, coloured pencils and a puzzle, and there are treatments available at the spa for both girls and boys aged six and up. Various glitzy suites are suitable for families, or there are interconnecting rooms on offer.
An ideal place for family time at Le Meurice with oversized guestrooms and suites
With Arc de Triomphe and the Seine within a 10-minute walk, these stylish apartments complete with kitchenettes offer convenience for families, along with hotel services such as 24-hour room service and porters. Apartments at Residence Alma Marceau have one or two bedrooms plus living/dining rooms with sofa-beds and fully equipped kitchens, which include washing machines, dishwashers, ovens and microwaves. Baby equipment can be provided and other optional add-ons include dry cleaning and laundry, babysitting, and car hire with or without a driver. As for catering, anything from a continental breakfast to a private chef can be arranged.
